billie Stevens playing acoustic show at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano

Last night, Billie Stevens brought the house down with his first performance of original music in years at The Coach House Concert Hall in San Juan Capistrano, CA.

With the upcoming release of his debut album American Youxia, fans were able to get an exclusive sneak peek at a few of the songs including “A Story of a Boy and a Girl”, “Back to the Grind” & “What About Me”.

The twist to this show was that the songs were re-tooled for an acoustic vibe allowing Billie to keep the fans’ anticipation for his upcoming album.  Billie said in a post-show interview, “It was a challenge trying to take a rock record and pick songs that I could put an acoustic spin on and still keep the energy and raw edge.  I think we did a hell of a job.”  He ended the set with a surprise acoustic version of the Handsome Devil favorite, “Barbecue”.

Before the show, Billie and fellow Handsome Devil/Green Today bandmate, Brian “B-Widdy” Wedmore, took to the airwaves with host Rodney Elliott on his show Music Gear Talk. Billie also made an impromptu appearance with Beth Vinas and Traci Smith on their show Gurlz Talk Rawk on EnterTalk Radio.  Fans who were not able to attend still got to tune in to the interviews where Billie talked about the production aspects of the new record, how he prepared for this show and what the fans should expect in the future.

“For us fans it has been a journey, riding there alongside Billie as he emerged back onto the stage through the tribute bands, Green Today and bMuse; but the real excitement is his new original music. It’s been long road but totally worth it.” says Hailey Gillman who was glued front row center during the acoustic performance

American Youxia is due out April 2016. For exclusive updates and to go behind the scenes with Billie himself, Join the Fan Club at the bottom of the page.
